Two crews will present G-Energy Team at Italian Baja 2014
14 MARCH 2014
Two crews of Russian G-Energy Team will take part in the second stage of FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies.
On March 14-16, the top-rank world teams will take part in Italian Baja 2014 traditionally held not far fro the Italian city of Pordenone. The G-Energy Team will be presented in the race by Russian duet of Vladimir Vasilye/Konstantin Zhiltsov on MINI All4 Racing and crew of Ruslan Misikov/Vitaly Yevtekhov on BMW X3CC. This year, the team will strive for victory and race podium.
Gazpromneft-Lubricants, Ltd. being the manufacturer of G-Energy premium-quality motor oils supports the team within the program aimed at development of domestic motorsports. The company was the first among Russian manufacturers to create the dedicated family of G-Energy Racing oils for all types of sport-class and highly-augmented engines. Support of Russian teams competing in cross country rallies allows the company to get on with testing of G-Energy products under severe operation conditions.
The racing sports program will start on March 14 with short Prologue of 9.2 km that will define the starting grid for Saturday series where the crews will pass six special stages. On Sunday, March 16, the participants are awaited in four final rally courses that will strike a balance of the contest. The total racing distance will be about 350 km. For three racing days, the car drivers will pass many tens of complex bundles, hairpin bends and speedways where accuracy of trajectory, speeding-up and breaking-down plays the key part.
«"I like much the racing in Italy, it is robust and distinct for beautiful courses with fords and coarse pebble. Of course there is not much driving route, mostly "to the right-to the left" in vineyards, but strife is always heavy here. This year, there is good competition and strong rivals in the World Cup, so it is of interest to struggle. We understand that main points are received at long-distance races with doubled factor but there is no reason for neglecting points at Bajas. We will drive in our pace and try to bring high points. The weather has always been the shaping factor of Italian racing, and this year the weather humour has already made the organizers to modify the route".
""This year we drive out in serious group - one Mini car and one BMWX3CC car. We, me and Vladimir, are oriented at strife for podium. We know the race. The Italian Baja is one of the most technical races requiring profoundly-skilled handling, skills of driving and road reading. High concentration is required, and as always the strife will be dense, struggling for seconds!"
