Gazprom Neft increased G-Energy oils sales by 12% in 2017

2 MARCH 2018
Gazpromneft-Lubricants, the operator of Gazprom Neft's oil business, has increased its sales of lubricants under the G-Energy brand by 12% to 46,000 tonnes by the end of 2017. In the segment of sales of various premium lubricants types produced by the company, 8% growth was registered, amounted up to 279.4 thousand tons. The total sales volume of Gazpromneft-Lubricants products in all markets in 2017 increased by 7% and amounted to 580.3 thousand tons.

Sales growth was facilitated both by strengthening of the company's positions within the country, as well as the export development and entering new markets - in particular, to Thailand, Iran, Peru, Senegal and South Africa. Today, the company's products are represented in 72 countries of the world, sales of premium lubricants abroad rose by 5% to 96 thousand tons.

In Russia, the company sold 385,000 tons of products, of which 184,000 tons were premium that is 10 percent more than a year ago, with a 2% increase in the domestic lubricants market in the automotive oil segment and zero growth in the industrial segment. Thus, the increase in sales volumes of the company's products is primarily due to the launch of new import-substituting products to the domestic market, in-demand by consumers, as well as the development of unique technical services.

An important stage in the business development for the company in 2017 was the start of production of marine oils under its own brand - Gazpromneft Ocean. The lubricants for engines of all vessel types - icebreakers, tankers, bulk carriers, ferries, container carriers and cruise liners - are produced at Omsk and Moscow lubricant plants. Overall total volume of marine lubes sales by the company amounted to 14.7 thousand tons by the end of the year.

Alexander Trukhan, General Director, Gazpromneft-Lubricants:

“The results of 2017 are determined by both the increased demand for quality lubricants, and the growth of our business efficiency and our competitive advantages - flexible production in Russia and abroad, an extensive technological base, advanced service programs. This year we will proceed the qualitative development of our product portfolio towards its expansion by lubricants with complex recipes maximally adapted to the specific goals in the various equipment operation”
